Capstone and Credential
Apply your skills and achieve formal recognition
The Capstone and Credential stage is where you bring everything together — applying your TM1 development skills through a real-world modelling project, and validating your capability through an independent assessment. After completing the Developer Pathway, you’ll undertake a practical modelling project designed to strengthen your problem-solving, model design and troubleshooting skills.
When you’re ready, you can attempt the TM1 Developer Credential — a hands-on assessment that formally recognises your ability to independently design, build and maintain TM1 models to professional standards.
Need to build your skills first? Explore the full Course Pathway to see the courses that will prepare you for the Capstone and Credential.

Capstone: Real-World Modelling Experience
The Capstone is your opportunity to transition from structured learning to real-world application. You’ll work through a practical, end-to-end TM1 modelling project—designed to reflect the types of challenges you’ll face in a professional setting.
You’ll move beyond guided exercises and take ownership of model design, implementation, and refinement—developing your ability to structure data, write business rules and build impactful reporting layers.
Project: Modelling – Sales
Design and build a complete TM1 model to support sales planning and inventory analysis. This includes:
- Revenue, volume, and margin planning
- Inventory optimisation across raw materials and finished goods
- Stockout and overstock detection
- Inventory turnover and working capital analysis
- Streamlined procurement and production logic
By combining technical skills with business logic, you’ll deliver a model that’s both functional and aligned to organisational goals.

Credential: Independent Validation
Once you have completed your Capstone Project and feel confident in your skills, you can proceed with the TM1 Developer Credential. The credential process includes:
- Practice Test: Independently build a TM1 model to simulate the credential experience.
- TM1 Developer Credential: Submit an independently built model that demonstrates your ability to apply best practices in cube design, data integration, rule writing, and troubleshooting.
Earning the TM1 Developer Credential formally validates your readiness for professional TM1 development roles.
Prerequisites
- Completion of the End User Pathway is recommended for a full user-centred understanding
